Cala Pischina

A Mediterranean landscape shaped by colour

Cala Pischina lies along the rugged coast of Gallura, where granite
formations meet intensely coloured Mediterranean water. The painting
concentrates on this meeting of elements: the cool blues and greens of
the sea, the warmth of sunlit rocks and the soft strip of sand separating
land from water.

Rather than presenting a broad panoramic view, the composition focuses on
a more intimate section of the shoreline. The forms are simplified into
clear areas of colour, allowing light, surface and movement to carry the
image. Small variations within the water suggest transparency and depth,
while warmer passages establish the physical weight of the rocks.

The handling remains painterly and direct. Visible brushwork gives the sea
a sense of movement and prevents the surface from becoming overly smooth
or decorative. The contrast between turquoise water and warm coastal
stone creates the central rhythm of the painting.

Although modest in scale, the horizontal format gives the composition a
feeling of openness. It can work as an individual accent in a smaller
interior or as part of a collection of Mediterranean landscapes,
