About the Artist
My name is Andrea Bocedi, and I am an Italian-Polish figurative oil painter working with contemporary oil painting and landscape painting shaped by atmosphere, memory, and perception. I graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków, where I developed my practice through engagement with European landscape traditions and a personal approach to observation and interpretation.
My work as an oil painter is rooted in a dialogue between external reality and inner experience. Whether working en plein air or from photographic material, I aim to translate direct observation into contemporary oil paintings that move beyond documentation toward a more condensed, emotional, and perceptual space.
Light plays a central role in my figurative oil painting practice, shaping structure, mood, and tension. I am interested in how ordinary landscapes can carry a sense of presence, silence, and duration — where nature becomes both subject and field of perception within contemporary landscape painting.
I have exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Poland, including at the Boznańska Atelier and the Resursa Obywatelska, as well as in national painting competitions. My works as a contemporary oil painter are held in private collections across Europe. I also create commissioned works, including custom pet portrait paintings created from photographic reference.
