Guardian of the Garden — An Old Garden in Warm Light
Guardian of the Garden is an original vertical oil painting
by Andrea Bocedi, measuring 20 × 30 cm. A pale, weathered stone form
stands within an old garden surrounded by trees, vegetation,
shifting shadows and warm autumnal colour.
The painting does not treat the garden as a carefully arranged
decorative space. It concentrates instead on age, atmosphere
and the relationship between the upright stone form,
dark vegetation and fragmented light.
A Vertical Composition Built Around a Silent Figure
The pale central form provides the main point of stability
within the composition. Around it, branches, trunks,
vegetation and darker passages create an irregular frame.
A small light building in the distance introduces depth
and suggests a wider garden beyond the immediate foreground.
Warm ochres and browns are balanced by muted greens,
cooler greys and deep violet shadows. The brushwork remains
visible across the surface, allowing individual marks
to suggest leaves, earth, stone and changing light.

partly cultivated, partly overgrown and held together
by one quiet vertical presence.
