Santa Teresa di Gallura Port is an original oil painting by
Andrea Bocedi inspired by the harbour of Santa Teresa di Gallura in
northern Sardinia.

The painting focuses on a single small boat rather than a wide panoramic
view of the marina. Its pale hull, compact cabin and warm yellow details
stand out against the cooler movement of the surrounding water.

A Sardinian harbour painted through colour and reflection

The composition is built around the vertical rhythm of the boat and the
softer, horizontal movement of the harbour behind it. Reflections break
the surface into shifting patches of blue, grey, violet, pale green and
warm cream.

The water is not described through a single Mediterranean blue. Its
colour changes constantly in response to the sky, nearby boats, painted
hulls and underwater light.

White and yellow accents on the central vessel create a luminous focal
point, while the loosely painted boats in the distance establish the
atmosphere of a working Sardinian harbour without distracting from the
main subject.

The painting is less a detailed record of the port than a study of how a
small white boat can gather and reflect the colour of the entire harbour.

Mediterranean colour

Cool blue and violet passages are balanced by warmer yellows, pinks
and cream-coloured highlights, giving the scene freshness without
relying on excessively saturated colour.

Visible painterly surface

Individual brushstrokes remain visible across the water, hull and
distant boats. These marks preserve movement and prevent the harbour
from becoming static or overly polished.
