Tuscany Cypress Alley is a large original oil painting by
Andrea Bocedi inspired by a cypress-lined road near Pienza in Tuscany.

A pale gravel road runs between two rhythmic rows of tall cypress trees,
leading the eye toward the distant hills and mountains. Strong southern
sunlight creates long violet shadows that stretch across the road and
give the composition its distinctive movement.

Cypress trees, perspective and Tuscan light

Cypress-lined roads are among the most recognisable elements of the
Tuscan landscape, but the painting is not treated as a decorative
postcard view. Its structure is built around strong perspective, bold
intervals between the trees and the contrast between light and shadow.

The cypresses form a sequence of dark vertical shapes against the softer
sky and distant landscape. Their repetition creates order, while subtle
differences in height, width and spacing prevent the scene from becoming
rigid.

Warm pinks, ochres and pale creams describe the gravel road. These
colours are crossed by cooler blue-violet shadows, intensifying the
impression of heat and direct sunlight.

The road is both the physical centre of the painting and its principal
movement, carrying the viewer between the dark cypresses and outward
toward the open Tuscan landscape.

Iconic Tuscan geometry

The composition combines the vertical rhythm of the cypress trees with
the diagonal movement of the road and shadows. This gives the painting
a clear structure without losing the irregular character of nature.

Expressive colour and brushwork

The painting uses layered, visible brushstrokes rather than a smooth
photographic finish. Warm earth colour, cool shadows and deep greens
remain active across the surface of the canvas.

A substantial original painting for a larger interior

At 55 × 75 cm, this is one of the larger Tuscan works in the collection.
Its scale allows the cypress trees and road to create a strong focal
point in a living room, dining room, study or larger hallway.

The combination of dark greens, warm earth and clear light works
particularly well in interiors with natural wood, stone, neutral walls
or warmer traditional furnishings.

The painting may appeal especially to collectors searching for an
original Tuscany painting, a cypress tree oil painting, Italian
countryside art or a substantial framed landscape inspired by Pienza.
