About Me
Andrea Bocedi, Borgo Villa a Tolli, Tuscan plein air trip 2022.
My name is Andrea Bocedi, and I am an Italian-Polish painter dedicated to contemporary impressionistic landscapes infused with atmosphere, memory, and symbolic resonance. I graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków, where I deepened my understanding of European landscape traditions and developed a personal visual language grounded in observation and reflection. Over the years, I have exhibited my work in numerous solo and group shows, including exhibitions at the Boznańska Atelier and the Resursa Obywatelska, as well as in several national painting competitions where my works reached the final stages and were presented in post-competition exhibitions.
My practice is rooted in a constant dialogue between the external world and inner experience. Nature, to me, is not only the greatest teacher but also an inexhaustible source of emotional and visual inspiration. Whether working directly in the landscape or translating impressions captured in my own photographs, I strive to evoke a sense of place and a subtle narrative that unfolds beyond the visible.
Light plays a central role in my work. I am fascinated by the way it shapes forms and infuses the most ordinary scenes with poetry and tension. My paintings often explore the quiet persistence of memory in rural spaces: weathered chapels, crosses, and solitary trees that witness the passage of generations. At times, my work carries a symbolic or critical dimension, addressing social and cultural themes through the language of landscape.
Technically, I am committed to the highest standards of craftsmanship. Each painting is created using premium, artist-grade materials to ensure excellent color, durability, and archival permanence.
My work can be found in private collections across Europe. I believe that painting is a never-ending journey—each canvas a lesson, each composition an attempt to come closer to the truth of perception and feeling. I warmly invite you to explore my portfolio and discover the stories woven into every landscape.
As a highly demanding perfectionist I use only the best tools and materials available for the artist to help me achieve high quality results. All of my paintings are painted using a set of premium and artist grade paints, most of my palette consists of Michael Harding and Royal Talens Rembrandt brands, ensuring excellent vibrant colour, lightfastness and archivalness. As for brushes I use mainly a selection of hog bristles of various shapes, predominantly filberts, daggers and flats made by Rosemary&Co. My paintings are among private collections across Europe. I would like to welcome you sincerely on my website where you can explore my art!
