A selection of one-of-a-kind paintings inspired by the beaches, red granite, storm light and ancient inland landscape of Sardinia. Each work is available directly from my studio.
Sardinia is often reduced to clear blue water and summer colour, but its landscape is much less uniform than the familiar image suggests.
Northern Sardinia moves quickly between open beaches, granite headlands, dark vegetation, rough weather and dry inland terrain. The seven paintings below reflect those differences. Some were painted directly outdoors, while others were developed in the studio from my own photographs and experience of the places.
This is a selection for collectors looking for a physical, one-of-a-kind Sardinian painting rather than a reproduction or decorative print. All works shown here are priced below $400 at the time of publication.

Cala Pischina · Northern Sardinia
Cala Pischina Diptych
Two small oil studies painted as a pair, capturing different fragments of the same exposed Sardinian coastline. The diptych combines sea colour, granite and rapidly changing outdoor light.
Displayed together, the paintings create a wider visual rhythm than a single small panel while retaining the direct character of plein-air work.

La Liccia Beach
A direct plein-air response to the open coast of Gallura, with the beach, water and distant land reduced to broad relationships of colour and light.
The loose paint surface preserves the speed of working outdoors and the physical atmosphere of the place.

Rena Majore
A compact coastal painting built around the contrast between blue water, warm rock and darker Mediterranean vegetation.
Its vertical structure gives the landscape a concentrated character and makes it particularly suitable for a smaller wall or a developing collection.

Lu Pultiddolu
Turquoise coastal water sits beneath a much heavier and more unsettled sky. The painting avoids the predictable image of uninterrupted Mediterranean sunshine.
Its character comes from the tension between clear water, dark weather and smaller passages of warmth along the shore.

Red Rocks of Isola Rossa
The red granite around Isola Rossa gives the coast a distinctive warmth against the surrounding blues and cooler greens.
Painted with an emphasis on large shapes and direct colour, the work retains the immediacy of seeing the motif outdoors.

Red Rocks of Arbatax
Warm red porphyry rises against deep blue water and broken white surf. The natural colour contrast makes Arbatax one of the most visually distinctive subjects on the island.
The composition remains compact and direct, allowing the contrast of rock, sea and sky to carry the painting.

Nuracu d’Izzana
An ancient stone nuraghe rises from the dry Gallura landscape, surrounded by muted vegetation and exposed ground.
Painted in the studio from my own photographs and experience of the place, this elongated work offers an inland alternative to the coastal subjects in the selection.

These paintings do not present Sardinia as one continuous stretch of bright beach. The island changes between the open coast, red rock, approaching storms, inland granite and archaeological forms embedded in the landscape.
Cala Pischina, La Liccia and Isola Rossa retain the directness of painting outside. Lu Pultiddolu is driven by weather, Arbatax by colour contrast, while Nuracu d’Izzana brings the selection away from the sea and into the older landscape of Gallura.
