Painted outdoors · Available original art
Small, one-of-a-kind landscapes painted directly from nature in Sardinia, Tuscany, Lombardy and Poland. Each work preserves the particular light and conditions of one outdoor painting session.
A plein-air painting is not a studio reconstruction of a landscape. It is the physical result of standing before the motif while the light, weather and colour continue to change.
The nine works below were painted directly outdoors, often in one short session. Their smaller format is part of their character: decisions have to be made quickly, shapes simplified and colour judged against the real landscape rather than a screen.
This selection includes Mediterranean coastlines, Tuscan stone, Lombard architecture and winter fields in Poland. Each painting is a unique physical original and was priced below $400 when this post was published.
Landscapes painted in front of the motif
Coastal wind, moving clouds, strong sunlight and winter cold are not background stories here. They affected the way each painting was physically made.
Cala Pischina · Sardinia
Cala Pischina Diptych
Two small coastal studies painted during the same Sardinian session. Together they record different fragments of sea, granite and rapidly changing outdoor light.

La Liccia Beach
An open coastal view simplified into beach, water, distant land and sky. Loose paint retains the pace and atmosphere of working outside.

Red Rocks of Isola Rossa
Warm granite set against cooler sea and sky. The painting was built through broad colour relationships rather than detailed description.

Tuscan Oven
An old stone oven painted in strong Tuscan sunlight near Montalcino. Warm masonry, cast shadow and blue sky carry the entire compact composition.

San Gerardino
A small architectural painting made directly before the church in Monza. The façade is simplified into warm planes, shadow and a clear rhythm of vertical forms.

Cabbage Field
A modest agricultural subject painted directly from nature. Repeated field shapes create structure while the surrounding light prevents the scene from becoming descriptive or literal.
View Cabbage Field →Gallura · Sardinia
Piano Gran Sassi
A small study of the dry inland landscape of Gallura, where exposed ground, muted vegetation and granite replace the familiar blue-water image of Sardinia.
View Piano Gran Sassi →Poland · Winter landscape
Winter Etude
A compact winter study painted outdoors, using restrained colour and broad value relationships rather than relying on pure white snow.

Backlit Clouds
A landscape organised around the moment when sunlight reaches the edges of a heavier cloud mass. Sky, light and atmosphere become more important than topographical detail.

What remains from an outdoor painting session
A small plein-air painting does not contain every visible detail. Its value lies in selection: which shape carried the light, which colour relationship defined the place and what could be left unresolved.
Wind, temperature and changing shadows prevent endless correction. The resulting paint surface often remains more open and physically immediate than a studio painting developed over several sessions.
Each work in this selection is therefore both a finished painting and a record of direct observation at a particular place and time.
