Description
La Liccia Beach is an original plein air oil painting by Andrea Bocedi, painted directly on the beach at La Licciola in Sardinia, near Rena Majore. The painting captures a calm stretch of sea with distant rocks lit by sharp late-morning sunlight.
This small seascape is built less around dramatic weather and more around quiet observation. What interested me most was the stillness of the water and the subtle colour transitions within the sea itself: blues, emerald notes, greys and small warmer accents that shift gently across the surface. The rocks in the distance catch the stronger light and give the whole image a quiet structural focus.
Painted outdoors on location, this work belongs to a group of Sardinian plein air studies where direct observation, changing light and the physical experience of the place become part of the painting. Rather than describing every detail, the image tries to hold onto the atmosphere of the beach: calm water, open air, distance and the clear light of the coast.
A one-of-a-kind original seascape oil painting, suitable for collectors looking for Sardinia paintings, plein air studies, small original oil paintings and atmospheric coastal landscapes.
Studio note
This painting belongs to my wider group of Sardinian plein air studies, focused on direct observation, coastal light and the atmosphere of the sea.
