Description
Stara Synagoga — Old Synagogue in Kazimierz Dolny
This framed original oil painting was inspired by a quiet corner
near the former synagogue and the Small Market in Kazimierz Dolny,
Poland. Instead of presenting the building as an isolated monument,
the composition focuses on the dense arrangement of roofs, walls,
windows and narrow passages around it.
Dark timber, pale stone, a red-orange central structure and intense
blue sky create the main colour relationships. The closely packed
architecture gives the painting the character of an enclosed urban
interior rather than a wide townscape.
A Quiet Architectural Corner Near the Small Market
The composition is built from overlapping structures.
Roofs cut across walls, windows appear between dark beams,
and narrow openings suggest further spaces beyond
the visible courtyard.
The contrast between charcoal-grey timber and pale masonry
gives the scene its structure. Red-orange walls introduce
warmth, while the clear blue sky opens the upper part
of the compact arrangement.
A small area of greenery at the lower edge softens the dense
architecture and provides a counterpoint to the hard lines,
roofs and shadowed openings.
The subject is not only the former synagogue, but the way
old buildings gather around one another and create a quiet,
enclosed fragment of the town.

Kazimierz Dolny, Poland

by Andrea Bocedi, 24 × 30 cm. A quiet architectural
corner near the Small Market in Kazimierz Dolny.
A Framed Painting of Historic Kazimierz Dolny
The painting combines recognisable architecture with a strong
arrangement of colour and shape. The dark wooden structures form
a visual frame around the lighter buildings, while the red-orange
centre becomes the main warm accent.
Brushwork remains visible across the walls, roofs and vegetation.
Rather than smoothing the surfaces, the paint preserves differences
between plaster, timber, stone and foliage.
The 24 × 30 cm format is compact enough for a smaller interior,
while the frame gives the work a complete presentation.
It may appeal to collectors interested in Kazimierz Dolny,
Polish Jewish architecture, historic town paintings and original
framed oil paintings.
